Meet The Coaches

Coach Keaton / Owner

I began cheering and doing gymnastics at the age of 5. I have always said that I was going to coach and own my own cheer gym to give young girls the opportunity to be part of a family-oriented organization. I have been to several cheer competitions with all-star, middle school, and high school competitive teams. I attended Saint Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, Virginia, where I cheered and came to love the sport even more because of the different style of cheer (HBCU). When I’m not coaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, the beach, tropical places, and seafood.

Coach Jae / Tumbling Coach

I have 22 years of cheer experience. I cheered for 9 years on the scholastic level and 2 years at Howard University on the collegiate level. The remaining 11 years of my cheer career have been spent coaching recreational and scholastic teams. Currently, I am the Cheer Director of Jamboree of Gymstones (JOGG Cheer) Mobile Cheer and Tumbling, where I instruct individuals and teams in private sessions, clinics, and camps. I created JOGG Cheer to impart, influence, and improve athletes’ character through cheer and provide affordable cheer training. I am excited to bring my experience and passion for athletes and cheer to EPIC!

Coach Tay

Ms. Octavia Wooten, also known as Coach Tay, grew up in the band world beginning at a young age. She has experience in core style as well as high-step and HBCU-style dance. She was a member of the Sound Machine (eClipse & SuperNova) from 2014–2017. While at NCCU, she served on the band leadership team from 2016–2018 and is a founder of The Stunning Ladies of SuperNova. After marching in the band, she served as The SuperNova Flag Line Instructor from 2019–2023. She has a passion and love for youth, always offering encouragement, support, and advocacy for children. Ms. Wooten received her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences: Child Development and Family Relations from North Carolina Central University in 2018. Coach Tay is excited to join EPIC.
